Holiday Build a Bird Workshop (Afternoon Session)

Please come join the Southwest School of Art this holiday season weekend to make an art project alongside your child. In this three-hour workshop, learn how to use craft materials and recycled fabrics to make a freestanding bird sculpture that will enliven your day and your home. Using wrapping and gluing over a wooden armature, this relaxing and simple process allows creativity to take flight. Glittery, feathery, colorful delights will combine to create an imaginative and bold creature. Projections of birds indigenous to the San Antonio River will be on display to inspire and inform.

Small snacks will be on hand and water will be available to drink. Please consider packing a meal as this workshop spans prime lunching hours.

This workshop is for adult-child teams. Each participant is expected to work on their own bird!

This is a wonderful chance to set the creative tone for the upcoming holiday with your family, and emerge with an incredible gift. Please take note on the age ranges specified for each day.
